What is the best way to charge a lead acid battery?
I'm using this battery http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=SB2486&CATID=&keywords=12v+battery&SPECIAL=&form=KEYWORD&ProdCodeOnly=&Keyword1=&Keyword2=&pageNumber=&priceMin=&priceMax=&SUBCATID=
with this charger http://www.batteriesplus.com.au/pd/1144/303/swallow-charger-acdc-2/ but every time i charge the damn battery it gets around 300 LESS mah into the battery
I AM RIDICULOUSLY PISSED OFF
I plug the battery into a 150w inverter to give my guitar amp power for busking
what the hell is wrong?
I have that charger because i used to race remote controlled cars which used nimh batteries and i needed to know how many mah i was putting into the batteries. when i starting to busk i figured the lead acid charging feature on this charger would work but since, the above problem has reared its head.
by the way, I charge the battery to full and then it is run until the inverter's alarm goes off, so i would say i use it cyclically?
Battery + does not even spec that charger as far as it's output etc. They do say it can be used to charge 2 12v batts at a time though. What I would suggest is to get a heavier battery as yours only cost less than $30. Battery + has small motorcycle or riding mower batteries that don't cost all that much and have a much higher amp/hour rating. It sounds like you are over charging the battery due the output of the charger is way too high for that battery.
