Angle Lens Pentax

A good "rugged camera"?
I've been debating this for awhile. While I do absolutely love my Panasonic Lumix FZ-28, lugging it around everywhere is like carrying a 2-pound weight around your neck--and that gets very, very annoying during longer walks. So I was thinking it would be great to get a compact camera that can take the rigors of everyday life--and the occasional drop into the fountain or drop from the top of the dresser.
One of the first cameras that came to mind was the Casio Exilim G1. 12 MP, 3x optical zoom, and the super-slim design made me curious--as well as a little playtesting at the local Best Buy. The next camera that comes to mind is the new Pentax, which interested me due to its wide-angle lens and more powerful zoom.
I am hopelessly torn on this dilemma. Can anyone out there in the community give any good suggestions?
