Can I interchange the power cord/charger between laptops?
I have a Dell 1520 and an old HP Pavillion ZV5000. The HP shuts itself down after a while because the battery is not getting charged (despite a new battery). The connection between laptop and power cable could be loose but I'm not sure what the exact problem is.
Make sure that the Dell 1520 and the HP Pavilion ZV5000 have the same voltage as well as connector tip style. The amperage on the other hand has to be equal or greater than the laptops requirement. So if you have both of them greater to or equal than the required amount, then you can use them interchangeably. If one is lower than the required, do not use it.
Also, it is your power cord because you said it shuts down despite it being a new battery. Get a new one and it should fix it right up.
