How do you use an Argus 35mm Film Camera?
I've recently gotten in my possession a vintage (working) Argus 35mm camera. I don't know the model name, but if there is any information i can supply you with in order to find out the model, please ask. It didn't come with a manual, and I don't exactly want to experiment with the numerous knobs and dials on the body of the camera. Beside putting in the film, i'm pretty much clueless as to how to operate the camera. Help?
You need to learn how to manually set your exposure. Which shutter speed and aperture you choose will determine whether you get the right exposure. If your camera comes with a built in light meter you need to use it. It should look like a little needle. As you change either the shutter speed or the aperture you should see it move. When it is in the middle you have proper exposure.
If it does not have a light meter you have two options. You can buy a light meter or you can use the Sunny 16 rule. See the link below. I suggest that you either pick up a couple of books on exposure or take a class. The rules are the same with digital cameras as they are with film so it will benefit you either way.
