Sony Vegas letterbox and ratio?
I have video from my canon t2i, which is in a 16:9 ration (has letterboxes) and im also using screen captured videos in my film, but they have a different letterbox, plus they have bars on the side (these don't show up in the preview, only after I export/render the video D:) How do I make it the same letterbox as my camera's footage? I tried adding a png layer over everything with letterboxes i made manually in photoshop, but they were the wrong size (used vegas to save a screen cap of the video, used the letter box ratio from there, so that didn't work out too well...)
Please help! I would appreciate it so much!
vegas is a very smart program that compensates for your mistakes. the computer screen capture video is most likely 4:3 aspect, which is standard for computers. You have intermixed widescreen video from the canon with it. both will look "normal" in the previews by themselves, but when it comes time to output a program, only 1 ratio can be used throughout. It appears you are making the final product as 16:9 widescreen, so that is the reason why the side bars from the computer capture.
