Can I use a spare laptop charger if the output amps is higher than the laptop states it needs?
I have a Panasonic Toughbook CF-T4. I don't have a charger but I've recently found one. I found an Energizer charger I had lying around and it states on it that its output is 11-16V at 4amps. My Toughbook states on the bottom of it "DC in 16V, 2.5amps". I need a charger for this Toughbook but I don't want to fry it or something. It fits the charger socket on the side of the laptop. I started to charge it and it didn't seem like it was acting strange. But, I don't really know since I haven't really used it that much since I just bought it used. Is this charger safe to use. Can I still use this energizer charger that I've found even though it says 11-16V at 4A and my laptop is 16V at 2.5A?.

Absolutely. The 3 things you need to make sure when using a different charger:
1) The connector tips fit
2) The voltage is the same or within 5% of given voltage
3) The amperage is equal to or greater than required
In this case, all of them are a ok and you should be able to use it without a problem.
However I also must warn that since its a different brand and used for other things, I wouldn't recommend you use it long term. Use it temporarily until you can get a replacement for it.
