What is the BEST photo filter I could get for:...?
I have a Canon EOS 5D and will be using the filter with this lens:
Telephoto Zoom Lens EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM

I want a circular polarizing filter, that much I know; however, I'm a bit at a loss as to which brand is the best of the best and (duh) what size I would have to get -- I know this is a dumb question, and I admit my lack of "technical" knowledge when it comes to cameras.
Any help and/or links would be much appreciated.
On the page you linked to so beautifully, click on the Specifications tab. In there, it tells you that the filter size is 77mm.
Sadly, those filters are NOT cheap, but yes..... a CP is a MUST have!
I'm not sure which brand to suggest to you. There are some people with very firm opinions that only the most expensive one will do, but I tend to go for more of a middle of the road approach.
If you can, get a UV filter, as well (those ones are much cheaper) since you don't want to use the circular polarizer inside or when it is dark.
