Self Cleaning House? Ionised Stain remover?
Okay. So I put blowers around the room to raise the settled dust. Then I site ion - things dust extractors (and maybe air purifiers). Will it mean I will never have to dust again?
Okay. Sludge on the carpet (or some other staining on it). It clings to the surface. I pass a handheld ionising / deionising device over it, then let the ion dust extractors take care of it: will it work? (the ion dust extractor could be a component of the device too)
Are you assuming that the item that the dust has settled on is not charged? Ionizers only induce charges. Take a look at how an ionizer works in an electronic air cleaner here http://www.smoke-eaters-supply.com/smoke-eater-maintenance.html It is quite simple, the entering air is charged while the collector plates have an opposite charge causing the entering dust to be attracted to them. I don't think your ionizer will be able to remove stains as this assumes that the fibers will not become charged.
The down-side to electronic precipitators is that they need to be cleaned regularly. You may want to take a look at the Electro Breeze Duct Mount UV kit which uses polarized media to capture 97% of dust down to 0.3 microns. You can see more info here http://www.electro-breeze-supply.com/electronic_air_filter.html I hope this helps.
