Will Carl Zeiss lenses mount on my Nikon D80?
I wish to buy a Contax Normal 50mm f/1.7 Carl Zeiss Planar T* lens that a local resident is selling for $75. Will this mount on my Nikon D80? If not, can I buy an adapter that will do so?
I do not know if there is an adapter I could not find anything on Contax to Nikon adapters ( there are contax to Canon EOS adaptors) . If they are made your best chance to find them would be through Zoerk ( http://www.zoerk.com/pages/p_mounta.htm ) The Yashica/Contax mount's register distance is a millimeter shorter than the Nikon F-mount. So if such an adapter exists, it would either not permit the lens to focus to infinity or it would have to incorporate optics to correct for this. ( I found this from a search on Nikonians)
There are however ZF mount lenses made by Zeiss for Nikon If you really want a Zeiss lens. I think only certain Distagon T* and Planar "T" lenses have the ZF mount.
