Is there an attachable camera lens that can give me manual focus?
I have a Sony Hdr Cx500v HandyCam camcorder, and it has terrible manual focus options. Does anyone know if there is an attachable lens, or lens attachment, or any way of fixing this problem? I do know that it can accept add-on 37mm lenses, I'm just not sure if there is anything to give me full control of the focus. Any help is appreciated!
Sort of.
If you get a Letus adapter for that camcorder, then you can use "interchageable lenses" that work with the Letus adapter.
It might be less expensive to trade the CX500 for a camcorder that has what you want.
The CX500 has a 37mm lens filter diameter thread mount.
The Letus35 comes with a 37mm adapter ring. If you go this route, you should seriously consider getting the support rod system, too. bhphotovideo carries LTMINIBUNDLE37. This is the "starter set". You will also need to get the optional lens mount - depending on which interchangeable lenses you want to use. This optional lens mount is about another $100.
So far we're up to about $1,400. Throw in the CX500 and maybe you can get into a prosumer like a Sony HDR-FX7... It has separate manual focus and zoom rings...
