Diffuser Nikon Speedlite

Photography gear on Craigslist - always a nay?
I'm SUPER tempted - I've found a guy claiming he wants to upgrade and is selling this months old kit:
Nikon D90 body w/ vertical battery grip
2 batteries
Nikon SB600 Speedlite w/ diffuser, batteries and charger
18-105 VR lens
35mm 1.8 lens
Believes he has most of the boxes and manuals for items
all for $1,100.
That's a steal!
But I don't think I'd recognize anything wrong with the gear if there WERE something wrong - I'm not experienced enough, and this isn't something where I could buy it, take it to a camera store for an appraisal, and then return it if it wasn't up to snuff.
Thoughts?

fhotoace has got it right.
1. Test EVERY SINGLE button on the camera and make sure they function properly.
2. Use mirror lockup and LOOK physically at the sensor and make sure it is not damaged or dirty
3. TAKE YOUR OWN SD card and take about 5-10 photos with the lenses.
4. Test out the flash.
5. look at the lenses and make sure there is no mold, scratches, or damage on the inside. (there will be a speck or two of dust, there is no way around that)
6. Purchase and Enjoy your kit!!!
