Can flash light be used while taking video with digital still cameras?
I tried a couple digital cameras. I was not able to figure out how to turn on the flash light as a lighting source while taking video. Sometimes when I take video with digital camera where lighting is not sufficient, I wish I could turn on the flash light on the camera. On some camera phones, you can turn on the flash light and take video. I wonder do digital cameras have this feature. Or maybe this feature only exist on some newer digital cameras. If so, what is this feature called? What feature should I be looking for when buying a digital camera?
I think I can see the problem.
A flashlight is a hand held source of light used when looking into dark places or when the power fails (called a torch in some English speaking cultures).
What I think you are calling a flash light is the electronic flash used buy still cameras for exposing single images. A flash cannot supply continuous light, so no you cannot use it to light your video.
Real video cameras have either a built-in continuous lamp for shooting in low level light or a connection where you can mount and connect a "flood" lamp.
