How much video can a Sony Handycam DCR-TRV260 store? Do I need to use a SD card and how big of one can fit ? ?
Also, can I connect it to a PC and just record right onto a hard drive?
I need to record approximately 8 hours of presentations. The camera I have has 1 hour tapes. Digital would be much more convienent for replaying and reproducing the presentations.

How much video time can fit on the HD on this camera?
The DCR-TRV260 is a Digital8 camcorder - it's already digital, but it doesn't take a memory card. You can't record directly to hard drive but you can capture the video and save it on your hard drive- it's 13 GByte/hour!!
Your best bet is to capture the video via firewire - - if your PC hasn't already got one you'll need to install a firewire card. They're cheap, easy to install and readily available. You'll also need a firewire cable.
Once everything's connected you can capture and edit the video with Windows Movie Maker (it should already be on your PC), save it as DV-AVI (it's under Save on My Computer, Best quality show more choices, Other settings) and then write it to DVD using DVD Flick.
