what do you think of this poem?
The strange song sits, staring gravely, yelling great things across the floor,
Reading great wars to people in red who know nothing but dreams.
All silent in the protests of ancient ones, side by side the red ones sit,
Reeling in the agony of these nightmares, calling out to faces in the dark who can't understand a word,
The trees, they understand but can't respond and who would listen anyway?
Any day now it will stop and be over, stolen from the depths of each mind draped in plastic and velvet,
Taken from the shelves where two pages met, that had never been seen by eyes still alive,
But sit patiently until their words and hungry minds collide,
Stuck inside until those in red and velvet and plastic hear their own voices, not just empty noises.
Don't ask what it means, I was lying in bed one night and inspiration struck and this just sounded right. Tell me what you think, thanks for any response.
It`s okay but I would prefer a meaning.
Change it to mean something .... you have some really good expressive phrases in the poem.
(At first I thought it was an older person talking to young children about the tradgedy of war in Russia(Red),)
You could easily adapt it.
