Filter Camera Camcorder

Take the IR filter out of a camera to see in space (need some help)?
If i took the IR filter out of my camcorder which is 65x optical zoom would i be able to see satellites in space because the sun would be shine off them.
From what i heard and saw videos of, taking the IR filter out of your camera makes lights brighter and you can see in the IR spectrum which shows more that just a regular camera.
would it work? BTW 65x optical zoom is far i have videos of close ups of the moon and you are able to see craters up close so im guessing you could see satellites up close.
I don't know how much brighter things like satellites would appear without the IR filter. There are some satellites that are easily bright enough to photograph with a camcorder (Iridium flares, the space shuttle, the ISS, for example) even without enhancement.
Of those the only one you might see detail at 65X zoom is the ISS. I've viewed videos of it crossing the moon, and it appears larger than many of the craters you might have seen already.
There is, however, a larger problem; movement. The satellites in question take only ten or fewer minutes to cross the sky at best, so you would have to pan the camcorder quite accurately to keep the satellite from moving all over the field of view. It would be better to sacrifice detail for accuracy, and use a lower optical zoom. Also, remember that if the stars in the apparent path of the satellite aren't visible in the recording then the whole thing is going to be pretty darned boring to everyone but yourself. At a lower optical zoom the stars and satellite will be sharper and appear brighter, and add interest to the video.
Have fun!
