about sony HVR V1U?
Hi! I have some questions regarding the Sony HVR V1U:
1- Where is the best place to buy it in miami, along with some accesories (the HVR-DR60 and a conversion lens for instance)? or should I just order it via internet?
2- What kind of VTR is needed to digitize from the DVCam tapes? Would a DSR-11 work?
3- Are there filters for this camera in the market?

As a part of the Sony pro line, you won't generally find this camcorder in the normal places consumer cameras are sold.
The best way to find a reseller is to go to

and put your zip code in.
The other option is to look into Amazon.com, B&H Photo and Adorama online.
For digitizing DVCam tapes, the easiest thing to do is to use the camera that shot the tapes and connect via firewire. If you don't want to do that, Sony has some good decks...

Just be sure it has firewire/DV-HDV/i.Link/IEEE1394 connectivity.
Filters for this camera can be found through the same place you buy it - either the local reseller or Amazon.com, B&H Photo and Adorama online.
The V1U is a very nice camera. Consider getting a good, sturdy case (like a Pelican or SKB), too... and a couple of extra rechareable high capacity batteries... and don't forget XLR mics if you don't already have them. And, of course a good fluid head tripod - and check out the SpiderBrace.
