Fit Canon Cameras

Which wide angle would be a good fit for my canon xti camera?
I have my eye on the 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM Ultra Wide Angle. But before I buy it, I was wondering if it's compatible or to powerful for my canon xti?
Any advice or tips are helpful.
Thank you,
-E
Too powerful, I dont know where you heard that but you probably shouldnt say that when buying a lens or they will assume you know nothing and try to rip you off. Anyways, that is a great lens, imo it is the single best wide angle lens out there. That focal length is meant for medium and full frame sensors where as the XTi is a 1.6 crop sensor. Not to say that it wont work, but its not going to be very wide. For example, most wide angle lenses for the 1.6 crop sensors range from 10-20mm. As you can see the 16-35mm falls on the longer end, So make sure its what you want by trying it on your camera. That being said, my friend uses that lens on a crop sensor and loves it. I ordered the tokina 11-16 f/2.8 and find myself wishing I had an 11-35 or so. Your other options of the Sigma 10-20 and 12-24 and Tokina 11-16 and 12-24 and Canon 10-22. Of course the 16-35mm is far better in quality than any of those, and will have less light drop off, barrel distortion and CA. Go to a store and try a few to see what range you like.
