Flash Sync Adapter

Is a nikon d80 compatible with a metz 45 cl-1 flash?
Hi there, i own a d80, it has a hot shoe connection and no sync cable input. I was thinking of buying a AS- 15 hotshoe adapter which will allow me to plug a sync lead in. However, i believe the d80 is i-TTL, and the metz flash is non-TTL, meaning the metz flash has to be hand calibrated for the perfect exposure.
Are these units compatible or am i going to destroy a nice camera/ flash?

I thought id ask on here before ringing up nikon and metz, and being put on hold for hours
No offense but trusting us idiots to answer that question for you is foolish. You need to contact Metz or go to their website. If it is not compatable, you will risk damaging your camera.
In addition, yes you will have to manually adjust the flash power to suit.
