Flip Flash Camera

Should I buy a camera that has flip-up flash?
I was thinking of buying the Canon SX110 IS camera, but now that I look at it, I'm not sure how I'll do with remembering to flip up the flash.
I was wondering if there is another Canon camera in the same price range ($300) that has a built in flash.
I'm going to France in March, so that is the main reason for purchasing a camera. Also if you can suggest a Canon camera that is fairly easy to carry.
Or, do you even think it'll be a big problem having to flip up the flash?
Please answer, Thank you.
The flip up flashes are marginally better (more powerful) than the tiny little built ins in the tiny little P&S cameras.
If you use Auto settings (and that thought makes me shudder !!!), then your camera will decide when the flash needs to come on. All the cameras I have ever seen will at that point either flip up the flash automatically, or let you know via screen that it needs to be done or else it won't take the photo.
For what it's worth - if I was in the market for a P&S camera right now, my choice would be a Canon Powershot SX10 IS http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=144&modelid=17630
