I have a EOS350D......?
I have an EOS350D......Thinking of buying a good macro lens. wad should it be? one more thing, wad is the use of lens hoods? the (flower-liked shape)
The Canon EF 100 mm macro lens is about the best thing you can buy for your camera. Depending upon your price range, it is available with an f2 .8 aperture or an f3 .5 aperture. Both lenses are outstanding picture takers made specifically for macro (extreme close up) photography.
A lens hood is designed to keep light shining into the lens from reflecting and causing image ghosting. The flowerlike shaped lens hood you are referring to is actually a lens hood, which is normally designed for an extreme wide-angle lens. If you buy one of the 100 mm macro Canon lenses, the hood that comes with it will be round and like a short hollow tube. Custom lens hoods are normally designed specifically for the lens they are made to fit.
