Question about cars and a rumbling noise?
I recently brought my car to 3 different repair places to get different opinions on what was wrong with my car. They all told me that the front right centre cap needs to be replaced. I asked them to explain to me how the front right centre cap would cause the "skidding" feeling I get when I break. They tried to explain it to me, but I didn't understand.
I am convinced their is something wrong with the breaks, but I have paid for 3 different full body inspections and they found nothing wrong with the breaks.
So how exactly could a front right centre cap needing to be replaced cause a "skidding" effect when I break when I am turning my vehicle? It just makes no sense.
It's probably your hub assembly or bearings on your right front wheel. That would cause a grinding/rumbling noise coming from that wheel and the wheel won't turn smoothly or consistently all the way around, which could explain the "skidding" you describe.
Expect to pay $250-$350 for it.
