What's The Difference Between A 0.3x Fisheye Lens And A 0.4x Fisheye Lens?
Basicly the title asks it all, but the full story is that im getting a panasonic hmc150 to film with. And to film skating with im thinking about buying either a opteka 72mm which has a 0.3x and a cavision lens that has a 0.4x. And i wanted to know what the difference is between that?
The difference is how wide the filter makes your lens. The HMC150 has a 28mm equivalent lens and the two filters you described would convert this to either a 8.4mm lens or an 11.2mm lens.
The smaller the focal length, the wider field of view you acheive in the shot, or the greater the distortion effect. For filming the skating, you may find that both put too much distortion into the image for your purposes, so try the unmodified 28mm setting before you buy one or other of the filters.
