JVC MiniDV Camera recording corrupt images?
When I go to record something with my JVC camera, the image is corrupt to the left side of the shot. The audio is also distorted. I've had this problem before and I purchased a head cleaner, and that fixed it, but now it only works for a few takes and then the same thing happens. I have used the same head cleaner for a while, and only some of the tapes seem to have this problem all the time, so the only answers I can think of for this problem are damaged tapes and an overused head cleaner.
Has anyone else had this problem with a MiniDV camera, and how'd you fix it?
Sound like you have clogged the heads. By any chance are you using different makes of tape? I had this problem with an XL1 I used two different makes and found out that the lubricant they use mixes and just messes up the heads you may be better off trying to clean the heads by hand have a look here

its not hard as long as you take your time.
your head cleaner I assume you have rewound it and reused it, that could be your problem, they are only supposed to be used for 10 secs at a time once the cleaner has come to the end you throw it away.
