Hot Shoe Cable

How do you trigger a metz on a Ezybox Hotshoe?
I am interested in purchasing a Lastolite Ezybox hotshoe however I can not see how I can connect up a wireless trigger to my metz 76. The hot shoe on the metz is at the end of a cable with a large box of electronics and a screen. There does not seem to be anywere to put this on the mount?
The Metz 76 is designed to be used on a flash bracket & wired to its controller. The Ezybox softbox comes with a mounting ring/bracket with a coldshoe bracket to mount a hotshoe foot onto. The Metz also has that huge battery pack whereas the smaller hotshoe flashes have a AA battery compartment.
It might be possible to somehow jerry rig the flash head with gaffer tape onto the mount to point into the softbox, but it won't look pretty. Unless it has an accessible hotshoe 'foot' you won't be able to connect it via this route, however, most wireless triggers will have a 2.5mm or 3.5mm sync cord jack so can you plug this in?
Edit: tbh it might just be easier to buy a cheap hotshoe flash & triggers! Yongnuo RF-602 triggers are reliable with good range - cost £27 from a UK eBay seller. The Yongnuo 460-II flash is cheap at only £41 (reliable UK seller on eBay), has full manual power settings & couple of slave modes too. Cotswold Photo on eBay sells the triggers and the Ezyfold softbox (same as Lastolites but half the price at £43!)
