Can you use a nikon Speedlight on a Sony Alpha DSLR with a hotshoe adapter?
I do have the hotshoe adapter and was just wondering if metering, etc will work, i.e. if the flash and the camera would communicate properly.
Nope.
Sony (Minolta) uses a proprietary hot shoe connection that is not ISO compliant.
I did find an adapter which will adapt a Sony/Minolta flash to a standard hot shoe
