can you get through metal gear solid without the infrared goggles?
i'm about 3 hours in and realized that i forgot to pick them up. i don't want to backtrack if i don't need to. i know that i can use cigarettes to see infra-red beams and finding ninja wasn't a problem since his camoflague is still slightly visible. should i backtrack and get the goggles or can i get along fine without them? btw i just got to the part after fighting ninja and Meryl getting attacked by guards.
you may just want to get them because there is a fight coming up that you will really need them. this is about the only part that you will really need them. i don't want to give anything away, but you will see what i mean soon.
you can get thru it without, but it will be much easier with.
