Ittl Flash Nikon

Has anyone used or heard of the Targus Zoom Flash for Nikon sold at Radio Shack? ?

Box says its iTTL compatable, and it looked sturdy. Its cheap for $100 U.S. Is it junk or not too bad for the price?
In my opinion you should pass on this particular flash. I just did a search and could not find any real information about it. This leads me to believe its probably a low power unit with dubious reliability. Any company that is legitimate will publish specs on their products, especially a flash unit.
Save your money and buy the Nikon SB-600 AF flash unit. Save some more and add the Nikon SK-6 Power Bracket. You'll be using the SB-600 long after the Targus has died and gone to flash heaven. In 1976 I bought the Vivitar 283 flash kit - flash, off-camera bracket, off-camera sensor. I still have it and occasionally use it. I think the kit was around $200.00 which was a large sum of money in 1976.
If you simply cannot afford the SB-600 now or in the foreseeable future, buy the Vivitar 285HV. Make absolutely, positively certain you get the 285HV. It won't work with your i-TTL circuitry but its a powerful, rugged flash. Its less than $100.00. Just read the Owner's Manual for it and the section in the camera's Manual about using flash. NOTE: There is an older Vivitar 285 but it will fry your camera due to its high trigger voltage. Make sure you buy the 285HV.
