Jvc Samsung Sharp
what specs of LCD TV is good? what contrast ratio should i choose?

am trying to buy a 32" LCD TV (ok i know sony bravia is good but as of now my budget is limited only to more or less $1,000)

So samsung,Philips, JVC and Sharp is in in my budget

but am confused about "contrast ratio"
samsung has 7000:1
philips 1000:1
etc...
and all of them has 1366x768 pixels only the contrast ratio confused me..

pls help which is better

Comparing contrast ratios between manufacturers is meaningless because they all use different measurement methods. Get professional reviews of the sets you're interested in, like from the December Consumer Reports. You should have no problem getting a 32" Sony for under $1000. BJ's and others have the equivalent to the KDL-32S3000 for under $1000 and I've seen sales on the KDL-32S3000 also under $1000. It's one of Consumer Reports top rated 32" LCDs.
