Is there another brand of ink/paper kits that is compatible with my dock series 3 easyshare printer.?
Like most, I am shopping for better deals and was just wondering if there was any other brands of (photo)ink and paper beside Kodak that would be compatible with my dock series 3 printer.
Paper - any inkjet paper your size is compatible. HP, Canon, you name it... Any major brand will work with it for as long as the size is right, and despite them saying "For use with *insert brand here* printers only". I would stay away from unknown/cheap brands though.
Inks - yes, but I wouldn't go there. If you go to amazon.com or other major retailer and look up your ink by name/number, you'll see a lot of cheaper inks that say "compatible" somewhere in name/description. Usually it's original used cartridges re-filled with cheap no brand name inks. Their quality will be noticeably inferior to original inks, and their archival qualities questionable, because you simply don't know what ink is in there. There are also some places that refill your own used cartridges, but with same caveats as above. There are no good brand name inks that will work with your printer, other than Kodak. HP, Canon, Epson, etc., don't make cartridges for other brands. Each makes inks for their own printers only. So what you're going to get is not going to cut it well. These inks can be Ok for documents and fliers. But when you talk about printing photos - stick with the original ink!
