How do 4:3 DSLRs compare with nikon/canons?
i saw the micro 4-3 from panasonic (G1) and im impressed because it reduces moving parts. Thinking about beginning my kit with a 4:3 camera.
the new micro 4-3 camera has no mirror, its lcd only so there is no shutter movement. that seemed to be interesting to me. but thanks for the info.
I will continue to disagree with fhotoace on this one.
It will make no difference to you whatsoever if you are not professional and few on this group are professionals.
Pros would really have no problems with this if they would try it. Pros shooting film in Medium Format (and the Olympus and Leica 4:3 cameras are not Medium Format) will also be using a 6x6, 645 and 67, depending on which camera they have and the last two of those are close to 4:3.
The olympus is lighter and smaller than other cameras. They were the first to introduce the lighter and smaller 35mm camera and they are continuing with that with the E500, E510 and the E410 and E420 cameras.
There are good lenses to choose from and more will be coming out. There is a converter for the digitals that make it possible to put old Olympus lenses on it, but most of your shooting with be done with the 2 lens kits that Olympus has.
