what camera should I buy (proper kit)?
I currently have a Panasonic Lumix, Ive enjoyed taking pictures and some of them are really good, most surprising is im enjoying it. So I want to treat myself to some real kit, Lens camera.....anything else I may need. Obviously I am an amateur so I need something thats a bit idiot proof and not overly technical. But I want good quality stuff.
Dont know where to shop for it, dont know anything please give me some advice.

Depending on what you get (+video or not) you will need a memory card, get a well known brand from a known dealer, and if the deal is too good to be true, it likely is (lots of counterfeits). Make sure the card meets your camera's specifications. No video, I'd go at least 4gb, Shooting video get at least 2, 8 gig cards (This is a bare minimum).
It never hurts to have a spare battery, but the li-ion batteries last so long in newer cameras that you can hold off on this until you need it.
I am one who likes to have a good UV filter on the lens, if only for some protection. I dropped my T2i on a concrete sidewalk, and the $25.00 filter saved my $700 lens. I remove it for many shots, and there is a good argument against the filter-as-insurance. It is just something I prefer.
Cases or bags to carry and protect the camera and other gear.
Cleaning kit.
Tripod, I've seen nothing worth getting under $75.00, some very nice ones between $100-150, and some lemons even at the high end.
Check local camera dealers, I have checked Amazon and B&H before only to find better deals at a real brick-and-mortar camera store. Starting out, their help and advice may be worth something to you. Tell them what your great internet deal is, at least give them the chance to meet it.
