what camera telephoto lenses are compatible with the new Lumix Gh1?
My friend just bought a Panasonic Lumix Gh1 camera and for her birthday I'm going all out and buying her a telephoto lens. I need to know which brand of telephoto lenses are compatible with it? Or are there any kind of lens adapters, say Canon lens to Lumix body? What specs should I be looking for? I would ask her but I need to be discrete about her not finding out.
Please help!!!
btw I know they are pricey, but thats not the point.
As far as I know it uses the 4/3 (four-thirds) mount. You will only be able to buy lenses for it that have that mount. Panasonic will make most of them, sigma or tamron might have some. Canon only makes lenses for canon.
I think you should be looking for about a maybe a 50-200mm telephoto. Which is relatively inexpensive. A decent one isn't too expensive at about $400 US dollars. Panasonic aren't the biggest manufacturer so there isn't quite as many lenses as Canon or Nikon.
