Lens Cap Black

I take a picture with my camera and only a black screen shows up on the view menu. What's wrong?
I got my FujFilm Finepix S1500 camera about two and a half months ago, and it's broken.... I think. It turns on and everything but all that shows up when I go to "shooting" mode is a black screen with a little bit of grain on the screen. After I take a picture, no matter what it's a picture of the picture shows up as all black in the view section. Trust me, the lens cap is off too. Please help with any suggestions.
Since it is still under warranty, call Fujifilm and have them help you. It may only need a "two button" reset.
First check and see if the image files are black too. If they are fine, then there is a problem with your LCD. If they too are black, then it means that you are horribly under exposing the images.
