ET-67 Lens Hood for Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM ET67 US
Would this lens hood work on my canon xs?
70-300mm
Canon does supply lens hoods with all their L lenses, but I agree with "screwdriver", they really should be included with ALL lenses. As an alternative to the ebay China shops, you can buy very inexpensive, but very effective, screw on rubber lens hoods. Most any decent camera shop has them in various lens filter thread sizes, or you can order them through B-H Photo.
A big advantage to a screw on hood is that you can screw it into a polarizer filter, and then easily rotate the hood to adjust the polarizer. With a typical bayonet mount hood, you have to be taking the hood on and off to adjust the filter. A pain in the rear to me.
Plus, I feel the rubber hood is better shock absorber protection for your lens that a hard, rigid mount plastic hood.
Yeah, if you have not guessed it, I use only rubber screw on lens hoods!
