Fish eye lens filter Nikon D60?
I own a Nikon D60 and I have been really wanting to get some awesome fish eye shot. I'm very short on cash and was wondering if anyone knew where I could get a fish eye filter that is compilable with the original lens that came with my camera. I'm not interested in any lens because they are too much money. On the camera it say 55mm but on my lens protector says 52mm so I'm kind of confused. Altogether I'd like to keep it relatively good quality but cheap.
Do not get the focal length of the lens confused with the filter thread size.
Your lens is a 18-55 mm lens with a 52 mm filter thread size.
Now to you wish to get something of good quality but cheap.
The problem with all the so called fisheye add-on lenses is that they cannot cover the full 180 degree coverage that make a true fisheye unique. What they do is introduce vignetting and extreme pincushion distortion and call them fisheye lenses. In my opinion, this is false advertising, pure and simple.
When you consider that the fine Nikkor 10.5 mm lens costs just under $700, you can see why buying a $60 add-on lens could never give you the quality or even view that a real fisheye can.
As long as you realize that the $60 "fisheye" is going to just be a toy to add to your camera from time to time, then the quality may not be that critical to you.
