Sony Alpha Macro Lens?
I am a hobbyist photographer and like to capture minute details with Macro Lens. Can you tell me the difference between the 30MM, 50MM and 100MM f/2.4 lenses. Which one is better. Can I buy them as Minolta brand. Ones from SONY Website are too expensive.
Appreciate reply.

Check craigslist and ebay. Also B&H and Adorama.
Yes you can buy Minolta lenses. The Minolta lenses that will work on your Sony are the Maxxum lenses. The MD, and MC lenses are for the manual cameras and won't fit on the Sony lens mount.
Here is a review site for a-mount lenses:

The difference between the lenses you listed is the focal length/angle of view. The 30mm has a wider angle of view than the other two and is a wide to normal lens. The 50mm is a normal lens. The 100mm is a telephoto. Which one would be best depends on what you want to shoot. If you would be shooting flowers and other items that you can get very close to, then a 30mm, 50mm or a 60mm lens would work just fine and would be less expensive than a telephoto macro. If you want to shoot things like butterflies or bumblebees, things that won't let you get close, then you would want a telephoto macro. Most macros have a max aperture of f/2 -f/2.8 and there is rvery little difference between those apertures.
