Lens Sony Hdr

Our camcorder turns off and on when in the OFF position. It's a Sony HDR-SR10 and Sony can't explain it.?
It also shows a film reel with a right arrow pointing to a cylinder looking icon, and the lens opens and shuts. It doesn't seem to do it when there's a full charge on the battery.
It has the original Sony battery but we haven't tried another one.
I have on older camera that does the same thing, its possed!
It may be a switch thing on mine or yours.
I just pull the battery out.
