Xbox 360 Durability - Easy Fixes?
Ok, Ive been in the army for 13 years and am deployed to Iraq for the second time. My unit has 3 XBox 360's all bought by fellow soldiers; however, two are deadlined because they have the fail to read disk errors and just eject the disk immediately. Unfortunately, this is a morale killer for us as I know we have bigger issues at hand, but when we have downtime these are a lifesaver. I dont have access to a Torx #10 to open up the consoles to attempt any maintenance on the lens... and my internet is so slow waiting the hour to watch a 10min youtube video only to find I cant do the repair anyways seems to be a waste. We dont want to buy any more systems, but can anyone offer guidance or suggestions on fixes? Im not worried about warranties or anything, just would like to get them up and running. We havent modded any of the systems and have dried just cleaning them regularly to keep the dust down but they seem to be lacking in durability. Thanks in advance for any help.
they failed to read the disks? How old are these xboxes? are they Jaspers?Maybe the disk(s) you use have scratches. Try using other disks. Or, you don't need to open the xbox 360, you can buy a cd lens cleaner.
