Lithium Ion Camcorder

General battery pricing (=*mAh value?)?
Asking "how long will my camcorder last on a single charge?" with this new battery I'm buying never gets me a straight and definative answer. Apparently it depends on about a thousand different factors, including the use of the camera's lcd screen, recording, focusing, stabilizing, filtering, etc.
That and the guys from Best Buy told me that i should look at the mAh value, which i have no idea what it means, but it generally means that the battery is going to last longer, when used in the same camera.
Im using a 530mAh battery (lithium ion, obviously) in a canon zr800 and 900 camcorder. Im not sure what the next level up is, but if I got a -/+ 1060 mAh, could i expect it to last twice as long?
(Twice as long as the 530 did when brand new.)
The mAH rating of the battery is the capacity, just like the size of a fuel tank in gallons. mAH stands for milli-ampere-hours, how many milliamps (flow of current) for how many hours.
If you double the capacity (530 to 1060), this will double the run time (possibly slightly more than double for reasons I wont get into here).
This assumes of course that you can get a larger capacity battery. Of course you can always carry a few spare batteries with you.
If you are looking to run for an extended period of time (especially if not moving around much), another option would be a rechargeable 12v battery (AGM or gel-cell type) that you use to power cigarette lighter adapter to power the camera.
