Monster Slave Flash

Does it make sense to be a ‘polydoctrinist;’ one who believes in many doctrines?
Remember that movie, ‘The Mummy’? There was one scene where a creepy little ‘Gollum’ type bad guy was about to get killed by a monster and he flashes out a Christian cross on a neck chain and starts praying to the Christian god but that didn’t stop the monster. Then he flashes out the Islamic crescent moon symbol and prays in Arabic, but that didn’t stop the monster, and he continues to pray in Hindu, in Buddhist until he finally prays in Hebrew and the monster, being Egyptian recognizes the ‘language of the slaves’ and spares him. This kind of makes sense though, doesn’t it? If you spend your life learning about every doctrine in the world you can cover all bases? Of course, it doesn’t leave much time for doing much else with your life…
Well, after I ditched Christianity, I went through a brief period where I explored all the other religions to see if any of them had anything relevant to offer. What I found is they are all derived from the same two basic human weaknesses...
Hope and fear.
I concluded that it made more sense to learn how to live without hope and fear, then to spend a lifetime trying to adhere to a set of rules designed to exploit the two weaknesses.
