Suggest a camera for me...Does anyone here use a Panasonic Lumix DMC-fh20 digital camera?
I need a digital camera that takes good close up photos of coins, as well as the usual photos. I am "electronically challenged" so to speak, lol. I would prefer one with both internal and card storage capabilities, VISTA compatible software, wide angle and decent optical zoom. I'm thinking about the Panasonic Lumix DMC-fh20. Anyone have experience and opinions on this camera? I can't spend a whole lot.
I'm a big fan of Panasonic Lumix cameras, I have a DMC-TZ7, which I believe is the next stage up, and the pictures simply have to be seen to be believed. The pictures it produces are near pixel perfect as you're going to get, unlike the Sonys which are unnatural and the Samsungs that have no detail.
iA is great for the camera novice as it changes most of the settings for you so its fine for normal photos but for close up shots like to capture detail for texture and stuff, I recommend changing the camera off iA (Intelligent Auto) and turning on Macro mode (especially for photos of coins) 
Panasonic also uses the SD card format unlike Sony's format which is less common and more expensive to buy for the same space.
If you can find it, save up a few more pounds and get the TZ7. It is now replaced by the TZ10 so you may find a refurbished DMC-TZ7 around. The main improvement is the even larger optical zoom!
