Does the canon A590 IS recharge batteries while connected to pc?
Does the canon A590 IS recharge batteries (given you have rechargable batteries in there) while connected to the computer?
No, but the batteries and chargers are really inexpensive as indicated in the following excerpt from the source link. Also, if the camera was busy charging batteries it would not be available to take pictures.
CAUTION Do not overcharge! Batteries can be severely damaged. Use an automatic two or more hour Energizer Compact smart charger with safety timer, temperature monitor, and trickle charge technology ($9.76) at Walmart. For longer life, use Duracell 2000mAh batteries and a full cycle charge monthly. Ray O Vac 2100mAh batteries are half the price and may do just as well, but have not tried them. To preserve battery charge, use the view finder and not the LCD screen when possible.
Never touch battery ends or camera electrical contacts. Oil from fingers will contaminate contacts. Use batteries in matched pairs of same brand and rating. Do not mix old and new batteries. New will only do as well as old.
In new cameras, look for optical viewfinders (LCD invisible in bright sun) and check battery prices. High mega pixel settings take longer to process and may not be needed unless required for very large pictures or enlarging small parts of big pictures. Maximum print size for a 3 mega pixel setting is 8 x 10 inches. Click links below for more details.
