Saftery Pins and HIV...?
Hey guys have a quick questions for you. The other day I was walking around and when I looked down I noticed I had stepped on a saftey pin, unclipped with the "needle" sticking out. It did not stab me or anything, but I know the pin touched both my shoe and the bottom of my pant leg. Here's my question: If that saftery pin had punctured someonewho was HIV positive, could the blood and the virsus live on it and be transfered to someone else who stepped on it? The pants that came in contact with the needle were washed on hot with standard laundry detergent, and dried on the hot setting of the dryer, is that enough to kill the virus, assuming some was on the pants? When Iwear the pants, I still feel like there might be HIV on them becasue they came in contact with the saftery pin. Please let me know.
