will this work with my lenses?
Asked this in photography and still no answers I thought I would try here
I have a tamron 70-300mm lens and a nikkor 18-55mm lens will this tele-converter mount them both and still auto focus with my D40?

It might, but the cons will make it not worth it. First of all with a 2x teleconverter you loose 2 whole f stops, that means your 70-300 f/4-5.6 becomes an f/5.6-8 and your 18-55 become an f?-8. Secondly you will most definitely loose AF or on the off chance its still there it will be terribly slow. The viewfinder will be dimmer and taking action shots or even having a fast enough shutter speed to counteract camera shake is going to be difficult at 300mm in all but the best lighting conditions. Now for image quality. Even the Canon and Nikon 2x teleconverters used with top of the line glass produce iffy results, never mind a third party low end zoom with an off brand very cheap teleconverter. You are going to most likely see an incredible loss of image quality along with increased amounts of chromatic aberration. My advice in case you havent guessed is save your money. And again all this is assuming it even works with both those lenses which it may not. If you are going to use teleconverters stick to 1.4x and good brands such as Nikon or Kenko in your case. First make sure though that your lenses are compatible. Teleconverters are best used with prime lenses and high quality zooms like the 70-200 f/2.8. Sorry, but I would rather you saved your money, than ended up with a product that if it works is going to be very unsatisfactory.
