Polarizing Solution for Large Lens?
Hey all,
I just recently found myself in possession of a massive piece of glass. Now, I've got a bit of a problem though -- the front element protrudes too far out to attach a filter Anyways, the lens takes gel inserts in a slot at the rear of the lens. It's an ultra-wide lens, and I know that can cause problems with polarizing. It'll be used for landscapes and I'd love to polarize this hunk of glass.
Any ideas?
Most long lenses have filters available for them. My 600mm f/4 Nikkor uses a 39mm circular polarizer (inserts into the barrel).
Without knowing what you have, I can't even hope to give you any direction.
I suggest contacting the manufacturer of your glass by email or phone to find possible resources.
I'm reasonably sure putting a filter on the end of the lens is preposterous if not illogical - suggesting step up rings is in that same category.
