EF Ford falcon front crank seal replacement?
Procedure pls.
Do I need a special tool to take the main pulley out?
Timing chain and covers off??
You might need a puller for the pulley (harmonic balancer). The chain is removed by taking off the cam sprocket.
Make sure you get the timing marks aligned on both gears at TDC before you remove them and before installation.
BTW, they may sleeves that fit over the end of the balancer. When you remove it, you'll see there is a tiny groove worn on the surface where the seal rides on it. The sleeve fixes that. If you don't know how to put the new seal in the cover, have a shop do it. You don't want to bugger it up to have to fix it again.
