Shoe Flash Sync

Does my Vivitar portable flash (2800 and 2600) have a pc sync socket?
I can't tell, I don't want to buy a wireless slave flash system without knowing whether my portable flash has the socket for the receiver, because I'm cheap and the one I plan to buy (on ebay) doesn't include a hot shoe adapter for the flash.
Also, if I was told right, I only need to hook up the receiver to one flash, and the other fires automatically? And, if my SLR digital camera is set to flash off (to turn off my built in flash) will the other flashes fire?
It does not appear as though either flash has a PC-sync socket.
In any case, though, all of the Vivitar flashes I've seen that support a PC flash sync require a cable with Vivitar's own proprietary plug on one end to plug into the flash itself. If you don't have one of these, it will cost you just as much or more that a hotshoe-to-PC adapter will cost.
I've paid as little as $5 a piece for hotshoe-to-pc cables.
As for your second question, no, you need to have some sort of flash trigger on both to have them both fire. I like the Wein "Peanut" slaves, which fire when they see another flash go off. There are lots of options, though, and a straight wireless trigger to both flash units tends to be the best and most reliable option.
