Slave Flash Fuji

Indoors group photo with a Fuji 5600?
Hello,
I've been asked by a friend of mine to take a group photograph of members of some committee he is chairing. There will be approx 15 people and the pic will be taken indoors, at night. The issue is (my friend is also aware) I have to make use of my Fuji Finepix S5600 without an external flash unit. The cam does not have a hotshoe also I cannot find a slave flash in a rush, so it is only going to be the built-in flash in my P&S camera. Hopefully it will be powerful enough if I don't need to take that many steps backwards to get all 15 people in the pic. The group will consist of 2 or 3 rows.
My camera has a maximum ISO setting of 800 and a max f/3.2.
Any tips and advice would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Dont use a flash, get alot of ambient light. I mean alot. And make them all the same kind of light. Mixed lighting really throws everything off. You'll be postprocessing for hours if you have photoshop, days if you dont.
If you have flourescent lights to use (already in the ceiling) see if you can add any. Flourescent lights cycle really fast, so if you have a fast shutter speed you'll get odd colors and weird stuff. You may think that your camera is possessed. It's not, you just hit the cycle wrong.
If your going with incandescent bulb (the kind thats been around since Edison's day) then you dont have to worry about cycles, but if they are on a dimmer try to get them to full power. They will give a red cast the lower the dimmer is set.
Try not to mix lighting. If you dont have any other choices then try getting a reflector or using something as a relector (a piece of white foam or whatever, use your imagination).
Your flash is daylight balanced, so its not the same color temp. as other lights. It will look blue compared to those other lights. Your flash is only good for 15 feet or so, and it will be more intense the closer it is. If the person right in front of you is 8 feet away and the people on the ends are 12-15 feet away, you will have darker people on the ends. You can imagine what that looks like right?
Lastly use as much light that you can evenly. Pay attention to the shadows that everyone elses heads are causing to each other. Light from above, with maybe a little from the sides but dont overdo that. Dont light from bellow the eye level. Tell everyone that if they cant see your entire camera that the camera cant see their face. And most of all, act like your know what your doing.
Hope this helps
