What are the best camera settings for an outdoor family photo?
I want to take an amateur family photo in my backyard and I asked my friend to come over and snap some photos for us. I just have a basic point and shoot camera (Cannon Powershot SD750 Digital Elph), but I still want the photo to come out decent. I live in a snowy state and the sun goes down around six o'clock in the evening. What are the best settings on my camera and what would be the best time of day/lighting for the mini photo shoot? Any suggestions would be awesome! Thanks!
*additional info:
We will be wearing browns, greens, neutrals and the backdrop is our brown fence that is a little rustic looking.
1. f-16, 1/100 if sun is out and bright.
2. f-8, 1/100 if its cloudy or the people are in shade or the sunlight is weak
Point and shoot is in no way inferior to dslr as far as photo quality is concerned.
