Sony Mount Adapter

Will a camera mount adapter with glass seriously degrade image quality?
I have a bunch of nikon F mount lenses. I'm interested in the Sony A-100 and I found this adapter to use the Nikon lenses with it:

It says it has a piece of optical glass in it. Will this severely degrade the image quality of my pictures? (Please don't suggest other cameras for me, I know what's out there)
Thanks!
I guess the first question is why don't you just buy a nice Nikon DSLR? It would make your life really easy.
That said, ANY optics that is placed between the lens and camera will degrade the image to one level or another. There are those who remove the protective UV filter before shooting images and then put it back on to protect the front element of the lens.

This happened two weeks ago when another photographer who was rushing by hit my camera with his.
If any of your "F" lenses are auto-focus, this adapter will convert them to manual focus too.
